The main objective of this course is to familiarise students with the overall process of counselling. It achieves this by providing a critical review of the essential components of the counselling process as well as the most relevant counselling and psychological theories.
Split into 8 sections, each element of this course seeks to expand your understanding of Counselling so you can achieve the theoretical knowledge you need to apply these skills within real and practical settings.
From understanding the industry to understanding relationships, theoretical approaches, confidentiality, transference, crisis and main ideas from the various schools of psychological thought; by the end of the course, you’ll feel confident in your ability to work with clients and improve their situation.
For your benefit, 7 additional hours of bonus content includes real client demonstrations of how to structure and carry out a series of counsellor/client sessions (based on the process you'll be trained in throughout the course.
You'll be encouraged to explore your values, motivations, strengths and the limitations they might bring to a counselling relationship, and by the end of the course, you will understand the essential frameworks that top Counselling Practitioners use to facilitate positive change in themselves and their clients.
This course is the approved Counselling Practitioner training within Achology (the Academy for Modern Applied Psychology). On completion of the course, students are invited to apply for Professional Membership within Achology and begin putting all of their new found skills into practice right away.
